Escape from Alcatraz: Ledezma in Madrid.

Missing: chicken, beef and Antonio Ledezma

In the country, the corral is not only for bank balances, but also people. There are 300 passengers stranded in Maiquetia since last week, but still Venezuelans top the list of asylum requests in Spain. It not surprising! With one dollar trading for 73 thousand Bs. (a 40% increase in the past five days) many want to leave. Or is that what makes the dollar go up? For now we suggest you look at the new schedule to ask for appointments to apostille documents.Simonovis was left to carry the can for Ledezma (wait, we’ll get to that) and he was issued an ankle monitor: you think they have 30 million of those? In Saved by the Bell, part 2, Maduro said that the opposition will be televised only when it has a leader. On Friday, he asked Trump to "join forces" against drug trafficking. Is he trying to purge the government? Because in Spain they dismantled a band of drug traffickers based in Venezuela. He also met with Cuba’s vice-president to strengthen relations (more?). We give, they receive, and then charge us for stretching their hand.Instead Evo has to bootlick and work: he demands a trial for Almagro. If only he demanded Maduro ended the same hyperinflation that walloped his country years ago. Another of his buddies, Mugabe, is still trying to hang in there but was given an ultimatum. Zimbabwe and Venezuela, parallel lives.  Meanwhile the people have had it. So much so that lynchings are on the uprise, and femicides are up to 114 on the year, just in Caracas. Commentators define chavismo as motorcicle, gun and misión. Urosa Savino made an invitation to be supportive. Codevida calls for a demonstration to demand humanitarian measures. In La Vega, they took the initiative with a day of solidarity.Pork: unpayable. Beef and chicken missing in regulation.Motta Domínguez blames the “copper mafias” and sabotage for electric service failures. Surely an evil man has stopped the catalytic cracker of the Cardón oil refinery.“Don’t renounce the vote”, it’s the only “magic” that can bring upon change, says Enrique Mendoza, candidate to the Sucre Municipality in Caracas –in case you didn’t know. In Chile they used that magic yesterday with clear rules and dates: Piñera won, but they’re heading for a second round.Again pollsters made fools of themselves. Could it be that lying when you’re polled is part of post-truth?Sports have also been devalued. Venezuela won the Bolivarian Games uninterrupted between 1961 and 2009, until they lost in 2013 to Colombia with a certain dignity (166 to 161 gold). But until yesterday, Colombians were giving us a monumental beating (119 to 42 gold). There’s still a week left.

The pyramid that the government doesn't want you to see

The day that went unnoticed

In socialism, the construction of reality is discursive. Regardless of facts that indicate the contrary: Venezuelans have lost up to 14 kilos of weight in 2017the government

up babies’ deaths; some ask for help for an undernourished girl. Sugar, flour, coffee are sold by the spoonful in poor neighborhoods.  Marilyn Di Luca, director of the INN, lives in another planet: paradigm shift; food resistance; combat against transnational corporations and blah blah blah. Proposals? Chicha and

fororo

. The soup kitchens, an emblem of the INN, ceased to exist.  Susana Raffalli, from Caritas, says that the State didn’t take control of food distribution to guarantee the right to nutrition

,

but to become one more seller in a business that moves a lot of money. Now it’s also used as a tool for political coercion.  The tragedy of hunger continues in Venezuela. Even José Vicente admits it (when it’s in his interest). The government’s policies consist of: talk to the hand. And corruption, above all a lot of corruption.

Dreams of freedom

It’s funny that a government of military, policemen, ex-guerrilla fighters and

cubans

lets a political prisoner escape (

pranes

don’t count). The ridicule of a cinematic prison escape has Nicolás speaking incoherently about Ledezma the vampire, who, according to the NYT, walked to the Colombian border. Not being able to shut up the international press clearly enrages him.  In Spain Ledezma was received by Rajoy. Such was Arreaza’s anger that he looked for his synonyms dictionary and, instead of calling the meeting the now customary “interference in internal affairs,” he spoke of an “unfriendly action”.  Ledezma apparently sunk his fangs to Maduro’s ego. Could that explain why two former workers of the Metropolitan City Government were detained this Sunday? And who are those two military officials who helped him escape? Could it be that

chavismo

wanted the voices of the opposition abroad to be even more divided?

Thank you, Morrisey
